Missy Zippy Lady
Lowest in the pecking order (poor Zippy)
Trained Quarter Horse mare, free. (Plus her saddle cost and transportation fee)
We got her without looking at her; naive, but in this case, it worked.
She came on a rainy August morning. I didn't exactly care about the weather.
I learned to trot with her. And I cantered on her, too.
We had fun together, and my brothers and sister claimed she's spoiled.
We went to the 4-H Fair together, and got first place in Novice Walk-Trot pleasure, did well with the trails, lost our egg in the egg and spoon somewhere in the trot, and then we did the gaming classes. Oh, and now we know that she hates swine. (The arena was right next to the swine barn. Great idea- horses don't like swine.)
Zippy is one of the best horses in the world. I love her. But my dream is English, and Zippy, with her lovely walk and jog (though fast canter), is very much a Western horse.
Enter Faith.
